Vacation Bible Club Recap - 2017

We walked into Dutch Kills playground that first day not knowing if any kids and parents would join us.  We left Friday evening knowing that 170 children and many parents/adults heard the Good News of the saving work of Jesus Christ!  Each evening we sang songs, listened to a Biblical Character share the Gospel, helped anywhere from 40-75 kids make a craft related to the message of the evening, played fun games with the kids and handed out snacks.  Over 20 ACC volunteers came every evening to help make it happen.  We connected with both kids and parents during and after the program, inviting them to church, ESL, youth group, Bible Club on Tuesdays at VBGC. Jeffrey asked one little boy what his favorite part of Bible club was. He answered that it was the singing and Bible story. He knew the story of Jesus' temptation because he had taken a Bible on Monday and began reading the New Testament! He said he enjoyed talking about spiritual things. We met several other kids who felt the same way, and parents who were grateful for us engaging with them. On Saturday, at the final picnic, we were the most ethnically diverse group at Rainey park that day!  We hope this is the beginning of many more outreaches over the years and the beginning of relationships that will result in new believers and family members of ACC.
